    Savage 64f

Bass Pro has this on sale for $119.97 and contemplating on picking up one. Here is the problem I have, Big 5 from time to time advertise the 64fxp for around $160 which comes with a scope. Are the scopes any decent and worth paying extra or just buy the 64f and get a nice scope?

I love my 64FXP but tue scope is a joke! Buy the Bass Pro one and spend the extra $ on a good scope. This little rifle will surprise you on what it can do. 2cents

I have the 64fxp...the scope that came with it is essentially useless, mine is still in the box. For the price of this little rifle it is amazingly accurate with its iron sights, a scope (a good one) can only make it that much better.

Get a scope, but don't cheap out on it and you'll be pleased.

i also agree, last month i bought a big 5 64 xp. the scope is just NOT up to it. i love the rifle though. very well made and easy to clean. un like the mossberg and marlin their is no problem with the recoil spring breaking while you try to clean the rifle. even the bolt lock is METAL i treat this little 22 like it is a CZ lots of TLC

Thank you for the replies. I'm confident now on getting the 64f and will use the save cash for a Nikon Prostaff. Will be going to bass pro tomorrow to pick up one!!

Great news for you! I'm trying to decide between the Savage 64F, 64G or Marlin 795 to set up as a LTR for Appleseed. I already have a Savage Mark II GL which I really like. Keep us posted on your purchase and--don't you have to wait 10 business days?
