I personally like the simple reflex sights like the bsa 4 in 1. Simple and very light weight.
Rifles:
Savage 93fvss
Savage 64fxp
Savage Mk II FV
Henry H001
Pistols:
FNH P45
Browing Buckmark
Shotgun:

It's all about personal preference... I can do either one and be just happy...Originally posted by BannedinBritainThe only dumb question is the one you don't ask...and get arrested for later.Comment

Depends on what you are using it for and the quality you want. The higher quaility are much more precise in dot projection, clarity and reliability.
I use Burris, Hakko and Jp for more open use, Millet for tube and Bushnell Holosight for Bianchi...
Avoid the under $100 chinese sights,you get what you pay for...TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

The clone ones like the Aimpoint H-1s are pretty good from PrimaryArms, Bushnell TRS-25 and a little higher up price Vortex Sparc. Usually the small Chinese tube ones are better than the comparable priced reflex sight ones.
PA and Bushnell red dots on the two angled ARs:
But there is a cheapy Tasco at Walmart, Tasco BKRD30 for $33 that is pretty darn good, its as good as the Bushnell TRS-25 in optics except twice the size larger. I have owned most of these and compared them side by side.
I also have an Eotech 517 and thats pretty good too, abeit a little more $.Comment
