Ruger Mark III "Magazine loading aid" - howto included

I was going to purchase one on amazon, but it sold out before I made my purchase. As I happened to find myself at Home Depot today, I decided to pick up a sheet of plexiglass while I was there. This works on the Mark III and probably the 22/45 or browning buckmark as well from what I've seen. This is what I made:



Here is how I made it. First, I marked up the area I wanted to cut out from the plexiglass, and drilled 2 holes that would fit my jigsaw:


Next, I cut between the two holes to make a single opening:


I then used two files to open up and square up the opening large enough:


The finished product:


Hopefully this helps someone else save a few bucks, and it makes a ton of them for only 4 bucks.

I know, I saw that and didn't feel like spending that much when I knew how much plexiglass costs. That is 10 bucks plus 5 bucks shipping that says 4-14 days. This cost me 3.98+tax and a little bit of time.

I've got it in my cart on amazon.com, but I wanted to see how this works compared to not having anything. Plus, when you make it yourself it just feels that much more awesomer. Can't wait to go back to the range.

A truly AMAZING Device. I loaded 6 magazines in less than a minute. Mo time to shoot, less time for pain......

+1 for the ultimate clip loader, but is it really that hard to just pull the thumb knob down & load one at a time?

I have the UCL & a ultimate buckmark tool thing that I got from Rusty22 and I don't use either to load with.

It isn't hard...but after a few hours your thumb starts to hurt.

actually that probably the main reason that I don't use either, I was going through ammo too fast.

This thing is awesome, I had one when I had a Ruger Mark II, loading super easy, shove the magazine in and loaded in 1-2 secs.

If it helps you load quicker then hats off to you. It is very satisfying to be able to make something and put it to good use. Even if you upgrade to another commercial-type loader down the road it's good to have something inexpensive as a backup in the range bag
