Another new to me Winchester 52D

Glommed a Winchester 52D last night at an estate auction. US marked and supposed to include the CMP certificate. Also came with a set of Redfield Olympic sights.




Stock is a little banged up, but the price was very good.

Congratulations on joining the Model 52 club. They are great shooting rifles. If that was mine I would knock some of the ugly off of the stock and shoot the snot out of it. I used to have three of them, a pre-A, and both a B and C model. All were bought as barreled action project guns. I gave the Pre-A to my son and kept the other two.

Finally scoped my newest Winchester 52D. I used a Redfield 3200 24X that has internal adjustments, but is long and mounts on the Unertl -style mounting blocks.





There was a left to right breeze, which I made one pathetic attempt at compensating for (the hole at 10 o'clock), but then just shot for the bullseye to see what kind of "waterline" the rifle would shoot with the Eley black box ammo.
