    Custom 10/22 TD Stock Ideas?

So I recently picked up my new 10/22 Take Down (hopefully everyone else here got to use the CalGuns 289.99 Turners coupon). Any ideas? wishes? wagers? when there will be some cool after-market stocks available? I did find a thread on another forum where a guy cut up an old wooden 10/22 stock to fit the TD model. Looked awesome. I'm thinking about a intrafuse option, etc... What do you all think?

I'm sure with the popularity of the 10/22 in general, including the new TD, it won't be long before stocks start popping up.

Here is two ideas. One, make the rear of the stock open up so that extra bullets, perhaps first aid can fit into the rear compartment. Idea two involves cutting the stock and re-designing to your liking of a pistol grip without the butt. Another idea not too well thought out is to buy a Boyds stock, laminated and fit it to the take down. I am thinking a cool rimfire thumbhole. This is what makes the take down so cool, it is up to you..endless possibilities. How about finding one of the old folding stocks & making it into an AR-15 type gun?

Here's what I did until commercial versions come along:

One 10/22 TD, a Tapco stock, a hacksaw (should have used a miter box and saw), a Dremel (as an impromptu mill to remove some of that bottom rib and cut a channel on the right side of the image), a coarse file (for final fit since I didn't make a straight cut with the hacksaw), and an hour or so...

That looks great! That is exactly what I had in mind. Any specific reason to not mod the front end? Or just to keep it simple? No judgement here... I love it.

Personally I would like to see a version of the Nordic Components SR-22 stock for the 10/22 TD.

"Any specific reason to not mod the front end?"

              A. I'm not that handy.
              B. I'm ok with function over form.
              C. Waiting for a nifty after market stock to come along for the TD.
