theres no way if you mount that beast that its gonna fit in your bag----people w the 3-9x scopes are having issues....if your intentions were to have it takedown and fit in your bag then this isnt the scope for you...keep the scope at a total length of 10"-----im running a weaver 1-3x at 9" ...i can still hit objects at the 100 yard mark and at 1x w both eyes open its a fast plinker -
not worrying about fitting the bag, I normally bring more than 1 rifle to the range, so I use my other case for it. Thanks for the advice though, any thoughts on the ring?
Btw I already bought the scope from a calgun memebr, it was too good of a deal to simply pass...Last edited by mp0wer2384; 05-09-2012, 8:11 PM.Lots of goodiess

Why spend the extra money on a take-down carbine and then hang the biggest scope that you can find on it? It's counter productive but it's your money. Assuming the base is at least .255" high you are going to need rings that are at least .500 high for a minimum total of .755" to clear the barrel, but that still may not be enough to clear the sights. As for your ring choices IMO those Millett rings suck hugely because they are a PIA to get dialed in. I still have a set sitting in a drawer because I absolutely hated them.
When I (briefly) used a WTC on 10/22 I made it work by using a tall base. The Power Custom is .350 thick (per Midway) which when combined with vastly superior Burris Signature Zee high rings (.420) gives you .770". I still can't guaranty that the scope will clear the sights but it should just barely clear the barrel.
The formula is the outside diameter (OD) of the objective, minus the scope's barrel thickness (B) and divide that total by 2 and then subtract the height of the base for the minimum ring height. You'll find the scope's dimensions on Midway.Last edited by sholling; 05-09-2012, 10:39 PM."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--

Great info! thank you, exactly what I needed (measurement) Since I haven't pick up the 10/22 yet
LOL Well, I bought the TD for other reasons as well, not purely for the ease of transportation. If i do take it to a indoor range the scope is staying home.Last edited by mp0wer2384; 05-09-2012, 11:08 PM.Lots of goodiess
