Ruger SR22P - Adjusting Sights & Laser

I just picked up my SR22P. This is my first pistol and have a question. What is the best way to adjust the sights and laser? I have seen a video where this person adjusted his sights by setting the pistol upright on a table and firing and making adjustments as needed. The same thing for the laser?

Is this the way to do it?

you can pretty much line it up with your sights 10 yards out and she be pretty much good to go.. maybe a few small adjustments .. fire off 3rds and adjust your laser to your shots till you have it
