    Bergara B14R

After waiting for over a year to buy a Bergara 14R complete rifle I was able to pick up a barreled receiver last month. Put it in a Grayboe Ridgeback stock with a Vortex Diamondback 6-24 Tactical held in place on a Area419 rail. If it shoots as expected I will upgrade the optics to better glass for longer distances.

Very nice rig! Is the B14R the same as the B14 Trainer ? The reason I ask is because you mentioned a very long wait for a complete rifle, and I saw a B14 Trainer in stock at Scheels in Meridian, Idaho just last week.

Yup. Sure is. Are you sure it wasn't a left handed version I saw a few of those during my search plus some 17 and 22 mag versions.

      if not. ..well dang! ????

It appears to be right-handed, by the picture. It's a steel barrel, not carbon. Here is the link:

Really, probably doesn't matter in the long run - you've got a fine rig and I don't know if Scheels would have shipped it to Cali - I don't think they have a store there.

That is a good price on the complete rifle, but yea - they don't ship. Store pick up only - bummer as I know another guy that is looking for one.

On the bright side a buddy has the factory stock and is now trying hard to trade me out of my Grayboe ?

Finally got the Bergara to the range this morning. This was my best 5 shot group at 50 meters using Eley match.

I have a arca rail mounted, but haven't decided on a bipod.

Atlas PSR on a Area419 mount. Very solid.

For rimfire (and I guess non-rimfire as well), groups at 50 yards don't mean much. Try 100 yards and see if you can maintain 1 MOA. Not trying to be a d***, but rimfire tends to open up a lot at longer distances so single hole at 50 yards doesn't necessary mean it's going to perform the same at 100+ yards.

I've posted about my 22 LR rifles on this board so I'm sure it'll come up if you search.
Too many rifles, not enough time...

Point taken. Very much aware that 22 LR opens up at 100 yards. That was the first time I had taken that rifle out and was mostly fine adjusting the scope fit, dialing everything in and lastly just having fun.

I also have a WTB posted for small quantities of match grade 22 so I can kick it back to 100 yards and see what it ammo it prefers - want to help a brother out? ?
