The SW22 Victory is the replacement for WS22A, S&W disconnected the production of SW22A 10 (?) years ago.
- S&W think that CA is a small market for .22LR pistol.
- S&W don't think that the SW22 Victory can take the CA market from Browning Buckmark.
I had SW22A and Model-41, I don't mind to add on SW22 Victory but I did not see any of them on the LGS. -
I ordered my Victory today to beat the 11% surtax. For many years S&W has always offered at least one high-end plinker with adjustable sights in addition to its super-accurate Model 41 target pistol. Prior to the Victory they had the Model 22a and the Model 422 (also 622). I have both as well as a M41 and look forward to adding the Victory to the super-plinker arsenal, which also includes a Browning Buck Mark. I should add a Mark IV to round out the collection. I consider my Ruger SR22 and Walther P22 to be lightweight plinkers despite their adjustable sights. And then below them in the pecking order are fixed-sight plinkers such as High Standard Sport Kings and Colt Cadet. All fun in their own sorts of way.Comment

I have the SW 22A and it's a fantastic shooter for a relatively bargain price (got mine as they were being discontinued). I finally broke a firing pin - the Victory part fits perfectly, I am keeping the replacement S&W sent me as a backup. If I didn't have the 22A, I'd consider the Victory. But the Buckmark (own 1) and Ruger (Mark IV and the original Standard) and my other Smith (41) keep me busy trying to keep them all in rotation.
