10/22 build

Hey everyone im doing my first 10/22 scratch build. I have a stockystocks cobalt terminator stock. i was thinking of going with tac sol receiver and barrel in anodized blue. i have been told the blue from the tac sol with over power my stocks blue. so im thinking green mountain ss barrel with the blue shroud. if i go this route im not sure what receiver to get. i like the tac sol still from everything iv herd they are the best period. i can polish everything in and on a stock ss receiver and perhaps with other upgrades get it as good as tac sol. what do you think.

Yea, if your stock and receiver will be blue, I would go with stainless for the barrel....But I would not put the blue shroud on it, I would leave it straight SS. A lot of rifles that have contrasting colors look amazing. It would look better in my eyes.

I agree, stick with the stainless steel. I have the GM SS barrel and love the look.

Keep in mind, the most important part of a 10/22 build, is the barrel rifleing. Your new barrel wont come rifled, you"ll have to send it to a gunsmith to get the grooves put into it.
Also, find yourself a high quality scope gas... dont use that crap that comes with it.. when you get your scope, just unscrew the glass, and fill it up.. you have to tip it upside down or do it really fast, so the gas doesnt escape after you fill it.

Normally, Gunsmiths charge anywhere from 1,500 an hour to 30,000 an hour, and this looks to me like 5 hours of gunsmithing.. I am willing to do the above listed work for a low low cost of $500, and a 12pack of BL Platinums.

how about i pay you with a 12pack of bud light platinum and ill polish another one of your slides for free. i have never seen a polished ar-15 yours could be the first id like the challenge.
