795 mag release won't hold

Man I messed up my trusty 795! During the last cleaning, I tried bending the mag release lever to try and ease up on the tension required to drop the mag. I bent it too far and now it won't hold the mag in place. During shooting the mag will just drop out! I can't seem to bend it back to get it work work. Any suggestions?

yea this thing happened to me too. however mine doesnt drop it.

i tried bending it and it just hugs it. is it still safe to shoot like this even though it doesnt snap back into place?

If you cant bend it back you could replace it.

Call Marlin. IIRC, Marlin has sent mag releases to users free of charge.
