Found my new favorite caliber -22WMR

Wow! I was missing out on this caliber! It's so fun!! I wish it was as affordable as 22lr but nevertheless, it's still pretty affordable.

Took my new Ruger Super Wrangler out to the range. It was my first time running the 22WMR cylinder and shooting 22WMR in general.

Federal 50 grain, jacketed hollow point on the left and Fiocchi 40 grain, TMJ on the right. What's weird is they switched places lol. The Federal tightened up and the Fiocchi opened up in the bottom pic.

Now I'm looking for a rifle in 22WMR!!!

I'd shoot a lot of it if it wasn't more expensive than .223 to shoot!

It is .21 cents per round here at TargetsportsUSA. Even cheaper if you have the ammo + membership. I don't think even Wolf 223 is .21 cents.

          I don't think it's on the Roster

But I did look at the CMR30, that looks like a super fun plinker!

Right now my top 22 mag rifle seems to be the Henry lever action. It will scratch off two itches, one for a lever gun and one for a 22WMR rifle lol.

Mr. Dillon cranks out 223 at about 12 cents per round. At today's component prices, it's still only 17c/round.

Don't forget to add the cost of time wasted of reloading lol.

I get it, but I don't reload. I simply don't have the time to do so. I buy from the store/online so 223 is definitely not cheaper than 22WMR for me.

I get it. I typically don't bother reloading the cheap calibers like 9/40/45/223 as time is money. But 5 minutes of pulling a handle while the oil drains in the Challenger or paints drying after painting some targets is worth several 30 round magazines full of ammo. I've got a PMR30 and as much fun as it is to blast through a full magazine, it hurts me to know it just cost 6 bucks for 8 seconds of fun.

Here you go, the optic is a Athlon Talos 3-12x40 second focal plan. All together have about $750 wrapped up in the rifle, not including extra mags.

                          I'm with you, OP.

I like .22mag and .22 Short the best.
