Its fixed now, but yeah the flat profile is what made me think the firing pin was messed up, so i bought a new one with the pointed tip, turns out to not have been the problem. It seems like the 90's guns are the best ever made, still had aluminum trigger group, pretty good triggers and the overall fit and finish is nice, i don't like the new ones with plastic and i'm not a big fan of the early ones anymore.

under the assumption that the bolt is nice and clean I wold give everything an oiling and try another brick of ammo. I've found allot that the troubles aren't your rifle but the ammo is crummy. Try a different brand of ammo and see what happens. I found out that CCI "Blazer" or Federal "Hi-Power work well.

You didn't read the whole thing did you? And i used some Remington gold bullets, but switched to federal pretty quick especially for testing. Anyway, it is fixed, and it has over a humdred round though it now with out a single issue, i've feeling a whole lot better about it too, just got a nikon rimfire 3-9x40 to put on it.

I just looked and saw that you got a new hammer, is it a Volquartsen by any chance? Because they come with a hammer spring that is notorious for light strikes. If you replaced the hammer spring, put the stock one in with the VQ hammer and you should fix the issue.

I didn't say i got a new hammer, i said i bought a brand new stock hammer spring to replace my original that was a little weak. Does nobody read through.

I'm editing the first post to get the point across.
