Savage 64F...anyone have a red dot mounted?

    Howdy...

Just got my Savage 64 F out of the Big 5 jail. I was thinking I might want to put a red dot on it. Since it's not drilled/tapped for a mount, I am stuck with using the dovetail it seems.

Anyone have a red dot on theirs? Suggestions for one?

    Thanks.....Steve

    Steve,
I thought about putting one on mine but this gun just begs to reach out and do some great groups. Not to douse your thoughts with negative but thats IMO. However if i would put on on mine i would think something like an ACOG or multi dot sight.

Not on a Savage though, I have a red dot on a 10/22. I think a semi-auto is suited better with a red dot since the speed of the semi can utilize rapid shooting. Using a scope will give more precision but my demands are more speed than tight groups. I have the 10/22 scoped for the Appleseed (my loaner to family members) but once I'm done the red dot will go back on.

Same mount I was looking at. My 64fx is not drilled/tapped though. I'll hold off for now I guess.
