That's my main gripe with the 10/22 - tools are needed to disassemble it for routine maintenance.

With that said I'll probably purchase one of these.

I have one and agree it's a handy tool. The other tool that I use a lot is a high-precision inch-pound torque driver. I use it for the takedown screw and when mounting scopes.

I've had good success just using a pick to fully compress the recoil spring, holding it back by the lever, dropping in the bolt, then letting the lever out until the bolt clicks in. Any long thin tool will work (screwdriver).

Pretty slick. I just use a flat-head screwdriver, but wouldnt mind having one of those tools

The Gunsmither tool works great. It also has a pin on it for removing the extractor for cleaning or replacement. Makes getting the bolt out very quick and easy. Been using one for years, and takes up almost no space in a range bag.

I've never noticed any problems putting one back together and until I saw that video I didn't think it was possible that others did.

Same here, taken it apart a ton of times and never had major issues. Though that does look like a useful tool to save yourself a headache.

I think the stock charging handle is a pain. But my oversized one is a breeze. No tool for me thank you. Also the extractor is a breeze too, maybe some would need this tool. I wouldn't think it adds value.
