I leaning towards a S&W mp22 something in a full sizes plinker but this caught my eye being a 1911 and color choice of earth tone or OD green

The GSG 1911 is the same gun, not made by Sig of course. Not in OD Green either, which does look nicer!

I believe GSG builds these for sig, go look at Colts offering in a 1911-22, those are built for them by Walther in Germany, i compared to two and went for the Colt,,

Umarex builds all of these. Just like the Sig Mosquito. They all have the zinc/aluminum frames or slides and will be prone to cracking at some point.

Take a closer look at the Ruger and Browning offerings.

I saw the browning version at Turners the other day, felt solid but look like a .380

Why spend the same amount of cash for a gsg gun when you can get a Ruger sr22?

Thanks Penny's dad.... and I already have a SR22 and so far it's been shooting flawless ...

I'll have to look into the colt 1911-22 and another look into the browning

Why spend the same amount of cash for a gsg gun when you can get a Ruger sr22?

Because there two totaly diffrent guns, Ruger is just another .22 pistol (a good
22), GSG/Sig is a 1911. And 90% of the parts will interchange with a 1911, so if you have a real 1911 you can set it up the same as your real 1911 .45 and keep in practice for pennys on the dollar.

Right up until the slide cracks or the guide rod breaks and/or eats the return spring. If you're not buying a Ruger or Browning you're spending money on a firearm that will break sooner than most.

well after looking into the Sig , browning, GSG ,colt I think I'll stay with my first choice the S&W MP 22 other than it made in germany its railed for laser or lights, full sizes feel and better built slide
