thinking about either a sig 522 or m&p 15-22..any ideas? also are the "evil" features and mag limits the same on .22 as they are on centerfire?

Rim fire dosn't need a bullet button. The Cali 10 round mag law still is there.

The Ruger 10/22 is the first for everything (first gun, first .22 LR.... etc).

i currently have a sig 556 as a primary rifle, but tryin to get my wife and kids into shooting also and i know she wont like the recoil of the .223 hence the purchase of a 22...i have been thinkin of building an ar15 so maybe just get the 22 conversion for it during the build? probably cheaper in the long run...

You can make that rifle into practically anything..

The M&P 15-22 rifle is a great rifle, i think one of its best features is its lite weight easy for kids, it will take some AR parts.
The 522 was fun as well, but it was heavier.
If these are you 2 choices, I would get the 15-22

Correction. The tube-fed exemption doesn't just apply to .22 cal firearms.
