Best prices on Tactical Solutions 16" Barrel?

I am picking up my Ruger 10/22 on the 4th and have ordered the Hogue Overmold stock. I would like to add a 16" Tactical Solutions Barrel in matte black in the future and was wondering where the best places/prices are? I like the idea of a threaded barrel as I think a suppressor in the future if I move out of state for residency training would be a lot of fun. I remember reading that having a suppressor was not legal in California but what about having the threaded barrel? If the threaded barrel is a no go I will be looking at the standard 16" tac sol barrel in matte black. You guys that have them what do you think?

I have a Green Mountain Barrel and love it. It's accurate, haven't had any problems. An alternative barrel, I think a little cheaper also.

I'd return the stock. Hogue overmold stocks that I've seen flex way too much so unless you're just building for tacticool looks I'd go with a wood or wood laminate stock for rigidity. Both Revolution and S&K make nice stocks. For prices I'd check Shooter's Discount.

Threaded rifle barrels are fine, but not threaded pistol barrels. Green Mountain and ER Shaw are great accuracy bang for the buck steel barrels. Kidd makes great medium buck steel barrels. Volquartsen's THM Barrels are light and super accurate but not cheap.

I do love it's looks as to me it has an understated tactical look and makes it resemble the look of a Remington 700 just smaller But aside that I got it for 13 bucks with my amazon credit and once I sell the wood one, saw some fetching 35-40 on eBay, the stock will be more than worth the little bit I have in it. If I decide to get really into benchrest I will look into your suggestions as I am sure you are right about them being great and stiffer than the hogue but I'm pretty much getting the hogue for amazon credit card points. Will look at the barrels you suggested but I do like the idea of the aluminum tAc sol...any experience with that one?

Midway has black non threaded tactical solutions barrels on sale for $159. They are out of stock but you can order and wait.

If you end up looking for laminate stocks, check out Boyd's gunstock, great stocks for the money and they ship fast. No experience with TacSol, but I have an aluminum barrel (Beyer Barrels out of Forks, Wa. Has a crappy website but check out his Facebook page, he does some killer fluting, colors and threading. Small company, super accurate barrels) on my 10/22 with a Boyds Evolution stock. There is a huge weight difference between aluminum and steel barrels. I originally built my 10/22 with a 16" steel bull barrel. The stock is so light it made the gun muzzle heavy and ackward to shoot. The aluminum barrel seens to balance the gun perfect. Since the aluminum barrel is quite a bit more expensive then a steel barrel, most of the companies that make them seem to have the accuracy part figured out. I don't think you can go wrong with the aluminum barrel, and TacSol seems to have a pretty good rep for accuracy, but check out Kidd, Beyer, Whistle Pig and some of the others. Good luck.

I've never tried the Tactical Solutions but you might ask on Rimfirecentral.
