    Pistol Barrel Length

I have an opportunity to grab a Buckmark Micro, but was wondering if there'd be a notable disadvantage in accuracy with a 4" barrel compared to the traditional 5.5" barrel?

Other factors will probably play a bigger factor then the barrel length when we are talking an inch and a half difference. Wind, flinching, sight misalignment, fundamentals issues, etc...

The main benefit of a longer barrel is longer sight radius. Second is slightly more velocity.

BTW Buckmarks frame is the serialized part and you can change out the barrel / upper no problem. Rugher MK's on the other hand the upper / barrel is the serialized part and you have to go thru an FFL to change them out.

Skillfully crafted for precision, ensuring accuracy with each shot. Delivering excellence one shot at a time...

If you are going to use optics of some kind the barrel length will make no difference other than affecting the balance in your hand.
I have the 5.5" with optics and I consider it to be a range gun....it's kinda big and bulky.
A 4" with iron sights would be more like a trail / holster gun IMHO.
What do you plan to do with it?

I'm not entirely sure what the practical range of a 22LR pistol is before the round starts dropping, but I'd like to plink steel at 15-25 yards (no optics). Already a proficient shooter, so fundamentals and flinching don't apply.

Close this post because these two guys pretty much nailed it....

The length as stated above will help with a longer sight radius....
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you may never need one again.

You will be fine at 15-25 yards. Out of a rifle 22lr can be accurate at 100 yards and beyond. Note the bullet can travel distances much longer then that...

IMO fundamentals are all ways in play. Guns are capable of better accuracy then the user usually. To say fundamentals don't apply is pretty arrogant...

I think OP just meant he already understands the fundamental and can control his flinching. I personal shoot iron sights on my 22 Ruger at paper targets and like the longest barrel I can get. But, it's not a good carry gun for a holster on the trail. That's just my personal thing.

Trust me, I cannot shoot above the pistols potential.

Thank you. That's exactly what I meant.

So, it sounds like I will be fine at 25y with a 4 inch barrel.
