What is the advantage of purchasing a complete upper chambered in .22lr rather than buying a 5.56 upper and a .22lr drop-in conversion?
Does it just save you the cost of buying 2 bolt carrier groups when you just need one, or are there more parts involved that make the .22lr upper better?
I'm asking because I am currently putting together and AR-15 in 5.56 (my first) and I have a spare lower that I am thinking about setting up for .22lr.
Thanks!
