    .22LR Handgun

Hey everybody! I'm in the market for a .22 handgun. Lately, I have been eyeing the Ruger 22/45 and the Browning Buckmark Camper. Today, I got to check out the GSG 1911 .22LR. It felt awesome! It felt like a higher quality centerfire 1911. Does anyone have any experience with this particular pistol? I am interested in out of the box accuracy, reliability and overall quality of this pistol as it might be compared to the Ruger and Buckmark. I'm not looking for an Olympic level pistol, just one that would be enjoyably accurate on the range or in the field. Thanks in advance.

Don't know anything about the GSG, but you can't go wrong with the Ruger 22/45. I'd put mine up against anyone's as far as accuracy and reliability.

I did a search on this forum for 1911 and got over 300 posts. Try that for more info on the pistol.

Send your wife or girlfriend to a "Women On Target" free shooting clinic.

They raffle off the chance to purchase a very slightly used .22 Ruger 22/45 for $180. the guns used that day for the clinic. It'll be her gun, but you can use it!

I just put the deposit down on a new 22/45 with 5.5" bull barrel at turners today. It's $324 and change OTD with their spring catalog sale.

I'm also checking out the Buckmark, any practical difference in the round vs flat sided barrels between the Camper and Standard?

I just picked up a Buckmark standard UXD slad side last saturday. Haven't had a chance yet to shoot it but I felt for the price and quality, it's a good buy. I also own Ruger MK IIs and there great pistols too and are tack drivers. If you feel you want to trick out your pistol with a barrel change in the future, then go with the Buckmark. You can't go wrong with ether one of them.

JUST got my Ruger Mk.III 22/45 to the range yesterday for the first time. With Hornady builk 36gr. JHPs, it was a HOOT to shoot! ALMOST no recoil - NO jams or misfeeds - VERY accurate, even on what was a windy day.

I understand the Mk.II's are more reliable - going for a used one might even be a good option, but my Mk.III is quite enjoyable. Can't wait to enjoy it again!

Do you still need to be 21 if its a .22 pistol? How about a .22 pistol revolver?

You need to be 21 for both. And don't forget your HSC!

                      Can you explain the bolded?

I know that a sliced receiver wall (LCI) isn't the best thing in the world for a pistol, but aren't they basically the same thing?
