Just says after I sold my 795 and I already miss that little thing. The local pawn shop has a Marlin 60 for $90 but it's missing the front bead sight. I think I can bargain down some more. What do you guys think?

Replacing my Marlin 795 with Marlin 60

Izzy you represent everything that's wrong with Calguns and the reason why my piggy bank is always empty

I do like the idea of my "tube" holding more than 10 rounds. I will check out the gun on Saturday and hopefully it's an earlier production that holds 18 rounds instead of 14.Comment

Its actually pretty easy to re-finish a stock yourself. Use a stripper to remove the old finish and probably most of the stain. Sand by hand with 220 grit sandpaper until all finish and stain are removed. Finish sanding with 400 grit sandpaper and remove all dust. Clean with mineral spirits and apply the stain of your choice. Let dry for at least 2 days.
Clean again with a tack cloth and then do this: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...ight=woodstock
Let dry for 3 days and then sand lightly with 600 grit sandpaper. Wipe dust with a clean cloth. The stock will shine like glass.
I have used this method on three stocks and the results are great.
Total time will take about 4 hours of sanding and 4 hours of Armoral/Truoil application.Comment

I sold my 795 for $125 and bought an early 60 for $70.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

That's not too bad, bought a Henry Frontier, 5000 rounds of ammo and 3 of those Nikon Rimfire scopes. Around $1300 all together this month so you got some catching up to do.Comment

This month I bought a Saiga for about $600, magazines and magnifier for about $200, 2 cases from big 5 for $60 and today I'm buying a CMMG upper plus charger handle for $450. I'm actually about $10 ahead of you.
EDIT: Also $175 more on 1,000 rounds of 9mm and $25 more for CCI Blazers....
PS: HOLY COW at all the money I spent

Imagine if the gun laws in California is not such a pain we would be buying a lot more stuff
I went to Turners today for magpul parts and checked out the Citadel M1 Carbine. I must say I like the little thing.
Why is that that I want every gun I've ever touched?Comment
