22 Frustration

OK totally frustrated! Bought a gsg 1911 love it. But it is fundamentally flawed. Fire 3 clips or so and the barrel set screw backs out just enough for the barrel to loosen and wobble maybe 1/8 of a turn. Enough for it to become inaccurate.
4000 rounds later it is the same. Fun to shoot but not worth a darn. I can put loctite blue on the barrel set screw and that works fine and can use a bore snake but cant field strip to lube rails. Bought a Ruger Mark 3 great gun but U guessed it. What a chore to disassemble. Now I read that the new Ruger sr22 uses a barrel set screw and folks are also using lotite to hold it in place. What next, $1500 for a S&w 41 just to shoot some cheap 22 ammo

Stick with the Mark III. Clean it once every few years

It's not terrible to reassemble once you do it a few times.

Unless you're set on an automatic you can look into revolvers. The S&W 617 is $700 and from I hear it's a beast. 10 shots, reliable, accurate and you can't get any easier to clean than with a revolver. I'm saving for one myself.

I would love a 617! Still debating if I want to sell off my 10/22 to fund the 617project.

Pure sexiness isn't it? I initially thought the same, should I sell xx to fund it. But then I know I would miss whatever I sold. Ramen noodles for a while .

I just spray my Mk III down with CLP and let it soak then attack it with boresnake and pipe cleaners then a rag.. and done.

Once ever 500-1000 rounds of clean ammo I'll take it apart.

I feel you man. My GSG 1911 is having all kinds of feeding issues and I'm getting it sent back to ATI. When it shoots it's great but doesn't ways shoot...
