        Go over to rimfire central and search for "gill gun" and you find a lot of info.
        Basically a Stevens 87, 187 model.
        These are odd in that the rifle fires when you pull the trigger but won't cycle the bolt until you let up on the trigger so it makes a click, bang.....clack sound when you fire it.
        Takes some getting used to...

            I have one. Not too much value, check GunBroker for completed auctions to see what's the going price. The interesting gizmo is the bolt is selective with a push/pull system to single fire or semi Auto.

            And it's a Full size 22! Hefty...
            TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
            The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
            Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
            Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
            The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
            The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
            The best lack all conviction, while the worst
            Are full of passionate intensity.

                  Thanks for the info, Ill look into it for him.

                  Ya that kinda threw me off. I cleaned it up and took it out to function test it and it did that I was confused for a bit untill he let me know it had always done that.

                  It is a little heavy but its super accurate. The push pull thing is what got me really interested in it never seen that befor. Wierdest thing I saw befor that was a bolt action shot gun....

                  Sorry not for sale, its been in their family for soon to be four generations. Has more sentemental than monitary value.

                  That sucks man, they never gave you the option of getting it back? I had a blast with it, my GFs daughter loves it, and happens to be an amazing shot - I think its cas she has a great teacher so its working out.

                  Thanks guys

                    The rifle is a close relative of the Savage 6 tube feed and the Savage 7 box magazine feed rifles. I have both a 6 and 7 they are great shooters. The single shot mode was so that you could use the rifle single shot cycling the bold manually after each shot. If you use .22 shorts, this may be the way to shoot them because std velocity shorts will not cycle the action. I tried a box of remington .22 short High Velocity they will cycle the action on my 6. Shoot a box of CCI standard velocity and a box of Federal Auto Match as starting points for ammo.
                    I wish someone would make a scope mount similar to the Mossberg 44 mount that Havlin makes
