    Umarex .22 UZI clone

Has anyone looked at this rimfire UZI clone in person?

The specs shows a length from 24.4-31.5 inches.

Does it mean the stock has to be fixed to meet the 26" minimum length for California or is there another way to comply with the minimum length rule?

It looks like the breach end of the barrel is several inches inside the receiver -maybe just in front of the ejection port? The rest of the barrel is covered by the faux suppressor.

Not my style, but definitely know someone who would want this for their birthday.

Yes, in order to comply with CA's SBR laws, the folding stock must be fixed in the open position.
An alternative (no sure how close the specs are, so some mods may need to be done to accomplish this) may be replacing the folding stock with an Isreali Uzi fixed stock or a Chinese Uzi thumbhole stock or an airsoft Uzi fixed stock.

One of the great innovations in SMG design (3rd generation) was the use of a telescoping bolt, first used on the CZ-23 but made famous on the Uzi. This makes for a much more compact weapon. In the illustration below you can see that with the same length barrel the Uzi is much more compact than the 2nd generation (pipe configuration) type SMG

Looks good but I don't like that msrp. Sheesh.

Umarex USA are importing .22 pistols and rifles patterned on the famous UZI machine gun.The guns are manufactured by Carl Walther in Germany but are branded IWI (the official UZI manufacturer). There are two models.

It is not on the approved list, so it will need to be imported in as a dimensionally compliant single-shot pistol.

It also has a threaded barrel which makes it an assault weapon if you use detachable magazines in it.

Therefore, after it is transfered as a dimensionally compliant single-shot pistol...
If you want to keep the threaded barrel, it will need to use a fixed 10 round or less magazine.
If you replace the barrel with a non-threaded barrel, you can use detachable magazines in it.

Umarex says 26.1" folded to 33.3" open. Barrel is 17.9 " now.
