    Ruger .22 finish

I jus bought a used 10/22 and tore it apart to clean all the internals and noticed the inside black finish on the receiver near the chamber was rubbing off and the finish/paint was making the action really gritty. After cleaning I was able to smooth out the action and remove as much loose pain as I could. Is this a common problem?

Hmmm...usually the older smooth semi-gloss black finish had minimal overspray inside the receiver and did not cause any problems.
Now, many of the newer ones with the "crinkle" matt black finish have a big overspray problem inside the receiver.
The crinkle paint is thick and it does come off inside the action, gumming things up.
Yup, it's a common problem, clean that gunk out of the receiver and the gun will work much better.

Iv had two other 10/22s in the past but held onto them less then a year and traded one and sold the other before they really got broken in, thanks for easing my concerns ojisan
