    Golden Boy...H004

Thinking of scoping my Henry and adding a large loop. I'm going to get the mount from Henry unless someone has another suggestion. I have never scoped any of my rifles yet, looking for some ideas. Something reasonable it is a .22.
    Thanks everyone.

Burris Timberline 4.5-14X32MM AO is a good scope for that rifle. You will find that with the big drop in the stock at the rear that a good cheek weld is difficult to obtain so a scope with the smallest objective will work best. The Burris has great glass and a low profile so it should work well. The only drawback is that with the smaller objective the field of view is somewhat smaller at longer ranges. It has the most magnification of any scope with a 32MM ojective. The next would be a Weaver RV-9, 3-9X. Probably better glass but lower magnification or the Weaver RV-7, 2.5-7X. The Burris and RV-9 are around $200 and the RV-7 is around $160. Might find them for a little less if you shop around. All receive great reviews on rimfirecentral.com.

I saw one Henry H001 with a 4-16X40MM and it overwhelmed the rifle and would also add a lot of weight. I think a large scope on a Henry just doesn't look right.

If you desire to spend less then I would recommend a Simmons 3-9X32MM AO. They are around $65. I have one and its a clear, bright scope, light weight and functions well but are not in the same class as the other 3 that I mentioned.

Good luck on your choice and spend as much as you can on a scope, you won't be sorry.

Thanks for the insight. I will look at those options on line. Again I appreciate.

Ive got a H001 and i love it! I put a simple Simmons 3-9x32 on it and its a dream. Congrats on the Golden. I would recommend using their mount rather than destroying that beautiful receiver.

GET THE HENRY MOUNT. I put a 2x7 Leupold gloss black scope on my Golden boy hmr17. Great scope, little pricey at about 220$ but it looks and functions great. You get what you pay for.
