10/22 Hammer Kits- Which do you have?

Hello everyone,

I've been investing a litle bit more time and money on my 10/22 lately, and therefore am beginning to swap out internal components now that I have purchased a new barrel and stock.

Anyway, I'm looking at hammer kits and was wondering if you guys have a preference?

I'm stuck between Power Custom and Volquartsen...but open to other suggestions.

Clark -- buy the complete trigger group with the trigger job and speed bolt release mod. If you have a late mfg 10/22 you'll eliminate the plastic trigger group housing.

I have just the Volquartsen hammer in my 10/22. The difference in the trigger pull is night and day. It's a great inexpensive upgrade. Here's where I got the hammer. +1 for VQ. The difference it made in my trigger pull was amazing. My dad has a Kidd single stage and of course its awesome, but for the money you can't beat a drop in hammer.

Great hammer article, thanx for posting it!
I purchased and compared both companies extractors and found no difference at all except the V part was about $2 more.
I have used the PC hammer kit and I am very pleased with the results.
Best bang for the buck!

I blindly ordered the VQ super action kit + on the recommendation of my gunsmith, now that I realise I need a metal trigger housing I'm wishing I just went with a complete trigger group, I'm going to be right in the range of a KIDD single-stage pricewise If i can't find a deal on a housing.

^ Old style hammers have bushings...new ones do not.
Parts are interchangeable between the two.
I have both metal and polymer trigger bodies, all parts swap between the two.
Why do you have to have a metal body?

Thats the same place I got mine. Makes a world of difference just with the hammer. I did get the shim kit but havent noticed much difference.

Seems like this PC kit will eliminate the trigger creep as it is adjustable.
