Can you have a rimfire rifle that holds more than ten rounds? I was looking at the flow chart and once you get to rimfire it goes to not an assault weapon...

Yes, you can: a tube-fed rifle. For example, the Marlin 60.
Magazines: 10 rounds for anything (centerfire or rimfire. Rifle or handgun) in CA, unless you personally owned/possessed the high capacity magazine prior to the ban. Being an AW or not doesn't pertain to magazine capacity limits.

If you legally own large capacity rimfire magazines, you can legally use them in rimfire rifles and rimfire handguns that do not use a fixed magazine.

(c) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

Rimfire handguns are not exempt from AW laws. So, while you may use a legal +10 round mag in any rimfire rifle and any non semi auto or non AW rimfire handgun, certain rimfire handguns (the ones that need mag locks to be non AWs) are restricted to fixed mags of 10 rounds or less.

Correct, there is no caliber restriction or firearm (handgun/rifle/shotgun) restriction to the lever-action exemption.
It was also granted as a "reward" for certain cowboy action shooters group who supported the passage of the large capacity magazine laws.
