    Just jailed a 10/22 magnum

I'm so stoked I just bought my first investment rifle. I just did a ppt for a sweet little 10/22 magnum this thing is mint. Only one safe mark on the underside of the stock. Here's a couple quick phone shot's to tide you folk's over.

I'm debating on keeping it plain Jane or doing a complete overhaul.

If you overhaul it there goes the "investment rifle".Don't do it.

^^^ That's what I was thinking I'll just buy another 22 to turn into a money pit. I have just under 500$ in this one. So it's going in the safe after I put a few round's down range.

I wouldn't touch it. Beautiful score. It's a very nice shooter and collector gun. There's an incredible amount of new .22 Mag ammo on the market too. Have fun.

Great find, especially at that price. I heard Ruger discontinued it due to reliability issues... Can anyone confirm or deny..? Just curious...

Yea discontinued due to exploding bolts. Mainly happened when people converted them to 17 hmr. This was after the extractor issue was "resolved" from what I have heard

If its the later 2-extractor model bolt, the general consensus is to remove the inside/left hand extractor and use just the outside/right one to avoid having it get dislodged and break the bolt. More info is available at rimfirecental.com The main fear is that you don't want to damage the bolt, since in true Ruger style we can't get new factory parts for these things....
