I know this is a real "cheap date" .22 pistol. After reading the manual that comes with it I was suprised they recomend Standard Velocity only. does anyone here have there own experience with this issue? If you have fired high velocity in yours , how did it work out ? or would you just stick to the standard vel. ?

Pheonix HP 22, would you use high velocity?

Its a cheap gun, I have read dozens of threads about cracked frames and such because of using high velocity ammo. Is it really that big of a pain to shoot standard velocity out of it? Are you really going to go broke paying $.07 per round instead of $.04 per using the crappy bulk ammo vs CCI standard? And the other thing I have read is the "lifetime warranty" is good for two replacements...do what they instructions say and avoid the hassle.
I suggest selling it. My GF bought one. It is a total POS, isn't accurate past 9 feet, pain in the butt to disassemble, overall low build quality.

I will add that if you truly feel the need to buy bulk ammo to shoot out of it, Remington 38gr subsonic is extremely reliable and cycles well in my GFs gun.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L Mencken

Thank you for the above, I will attempt to sell it. It is not the cost of ammo, I kinda thought it would be a light weight ,cheap, utility back country, no worries about damage, scratch & nick pistol. I hope there is a buyer out there next , this was just an impulse buy. Not worth the worry to me.
Lead will be worth more than silver and gold when they are giving it away free !

Forgot to mention that it is not a bad "looker" with the 5"bbl. and the smaller change out bbl. seem like a good idea at the time. After all is sais and done this is a "Junk Gun" for sure. Just sayin.Lead will be worth more than silver and gold when they are giving it away free !

NO. I did and my frame cracked with walmart bulk federal ammo. They are not desirable..

Yeah, the reason my GF bought hers was she wanted a first pistol, and the cost, and looks really turned her on to it.

The good news is that they seem to go relatively quickly in the FS section when you price them reasonably. As soon as we figure out what she wants to replace hers with I will be posting hers up for sale for her.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L Mencken

i must have a freak of a gun...i only shoot blazers out of mine and even shot stingers out of it, no cracks...maybe an overused recoil spring, but thats about it...more than 1k rounds thru it
filed strip and cleaning is also a breeze...only downside is the fact that its innaccurate past 10or so feet
other than that mines been a hoot and is now serving as a trunk gun JIC-Coi- N R A member since 2008

I've shot a whole lot of mini-mags, fed bulk, 60gr sub sonics and stingers out of mine. I'm curious what it can take. If it breaks I'll get a new one so I don't really care. For the price and intended usage they are just fine. Range plinker they are not.Join the NRA today!Comment
