I'd say nearly any gun is worth more in CA. The S&W 41 is getting hard to find; and a lot of people, including me , would like one. The 41 is on-roster in CA and might even have an Olympic Pistol Exemption (not sure about that.)

Being on roster means you can sell in via a PPT transfer where seller and buyer show up at the shop and do the paperwork; or it can be shipped within CA to a buyer's FFL for transfer.

I see M41's going for a minimum of $1,000 and up to about $1,400. More if a M41 has two barrels.

I'd hate to see such a fine gun leave CA.

Idaho is tough for gun sales.Handguns in general really sell better here.I would suggest getting it posted on a online source.I sold the last couple of 41s I had last year for $750 and $800 to people in Texas(I use Gunbroker). They were shot, but very nice condition. It is hard to sell anything in the high desert, where I live like that. Many people are unfamiliar with them and folks in Idaho,at least where I frequent would like to have them, but no way have the price in their pocket. My dad is 81,has lived in Sandpoint over 50 years and called the other day about a couple rifles.I sent him the money. His friend was selling a SS Ruger 77-22 with a Leupold VX3 2.5-8 on it and a SS fluted Sako 85 30-06 with a Burris Signature 3-9 on it.Both guns appear to be as new to my dad,and he fools with the stuff all the time. I did not feel my dad needed to haggle at $1000 for BOTH guns with the scopes.Dad said his friend had many people who said they were buying guns, but no one pulled the grand out of their pocket.SAD.I was up there in December and actually had seen a Model 41 in a CDA gunshop brand new for $1080 in a store for sale.A quality pistol like you have, needs to find a good home.Good luck

Yes, it is both on roster and has the Olympic Pistol Exemption. The M46 is not on roster but has the Olympic Exemption. They are not common in CA and new or used (A++ condition) tend to go for $1000 + as stated.

If I wanted one in CA I would find a nice used one on GunBroker and have it shipped to an FFL with resonable transfer fees. You could be into one for $800-$850 OTD if you keep you eyes open.

To the OP...sell it in CA. You'll get at least as much or more than in ID and you keep it in CA that way!

They are totally worthless you should just dump it off to someone like me I will pay the transferr fees etc and take it off your hands.
