Does anyone have a link for detailed instructions on how to do the famous slingshot mod?

How about instructions on how to install the Volquastsen Mk II kit in a Mk III?

Set aside about an hour and a half of time and patience for the accurizing kit install. It is a total PITA. The link above is a great help in getting everything back together. FYI, use the original 22/45 sear spring. The one that comes in the kit is really for a regular MkIII.

Be sure you also get a MKII hammer bushing. It's not in the kit. The VQ MKII bushing drops right into the VQ MKII hammer. Or, you can get the Clark Bushing -- it's 0.003" bigger in diameter and requires persuasion to get it into the hammer. Don't get "Sam's" bushing if you're going with the MKII kit as it's intended only for use in a MKIII hammer.

Pay close attention to how you disassemble. Helps to watch the videos several times before you begin; and be near a computer during reassembly to check questions you might have.

And, as was pointed out, you must retain the Ruger sear spring in the 22/45 because the VQ spring only fits a metal frame MK pistol. (I think the 22/45 does not have the cross pin in the frame for the tail of the sear spring to operate against.)

If you've got the money, buy a VQ Stainless Steel trigger -- better fit and finish compared to the Black anodized aluminum triggers that come in the kit.

Yeah I had to sand the inside of the hole that connects to the disconnector lever using fine grit sandpaper rolled into a tight tube on my BLACK vq trigger. Works like a charm now. All you need is the VQ Sear, VQ Trigger, and VQ MKII hammer bushing and you got yourself a deadly 22/45
