    Competitions? For kids/teens?

So, got my daughter a 10/22 and a cert for Appleseed. We're gonna do that. She asked me if there were competitions. I don't know. Are there competitions for target shooting she can go to after Appleseed?

Dont know much with rimfire rifle competitions...but I do know Steel Challenge has a rimfire division for pistols. I know...more money of your pocket for a rimfire pistol. But it's definately beginner friendly since all the shooting is done from the low ready position.

      Yes,

Yes, there are competitions for Kids and Adults both, that way you can both shoot. I am 24 years old and i shoot 22 rimfire silhouettee "all Standing" and Smallbore Precision, I'm unfamiliare with you location but near me there is SLOSA, LARR, and Vandenberg AFB, and many more depending on what you want to shoot

Im going to be honest it gets expensive quick "again depending on what type of shooting you do" but that doesn't mean you both cant have fun with a 10/22 i use to shoot with one and still have mine.

This can be a very rewarding sport, a friend of mine has a college scholarship to Texas because she was that good, air rifle is also another sport worth looking into.

I just registered for calguns today and i hope that i can be more help if you would like to know more just ask and i will share what i can.

O and a very popular Target for Smallbore shooting is the A23 "50yard 5 bull" and the A25 "100yard 3 bull" if you want to practice prior to shooting.

Here's the link where i shoot for NRA matches

That group shoots small bore in LA, and has developed a number of Junior Olympians. They might be able to connect you with a group where you are.

The CMP is also a fine resource for this sort of thing.

South Bay Rod and Gun out in Dulzura has a youth division that meets two Saturdays in every month. It's not really a competition, but a progressive training program. Read more about it here:

            Tire kickers gonna kick,
            Nose pickers gonna pick
I and others know the real
