Walmart Ammo price check 22lr?

The sporting goods dep. at this walmart I go to never picks up the phone. Does anyone know how much the Federal 525rd value packs are selling? They should cost the same at any walmart.

my price included shipping. it was a special from brownells and they had a 10% off code that basically cancelled out shipping. check out slickguns.com for some great ammo deals as well as the normal ammoengine, ammoseek, etc.

I asked for the cheapest brick they had that was it.
turners had the 525 36grn hollow point for 17?+/- a buck but three boxes was under 60 otd. and they go on sale a lot

For a bulk box of .22LR you should be looking at just under $20 per box. I wouldn't go over unless they're something special like match ammo. You probably won't find 'em for $15 or less per box either, even at the gun shows.

Personally I like the white box Winchester bulk packs, and they are a better deal at 555 rounds. I had a lot of Federal at one time, but I had a few boxes with rounds that were coated in a thick wax that messed with my 10/22, so I haven't used or bought any Federal since (still have about 300+/- rounds in a zip lock I haven't used).

Another good bulk pack is the CCI Blazer, you could find them for about $20 as well, and they come in a loose bulk box of 525 I think, or an individually boxed brick of 500 (50 rounds per box). But they're not jacketed, so they can make a mess. WalMart doesn't sell these, but Big5 has 'em on sale all the time.

If you want CCI Blazer, you can also try www.jgsales.com, you can buy 5,000 rounds for about $170 + shipping. Works out to be like $1.70 per box of 50. They also have the Federal 525 packs for $19.95......... I might put in an order some time this week, I'd like to stock up on my .22 ammo.
