    Anybody shot this ammo?

    Remington.....I've found it's usually junk.

It just sold out....perhaps a good thing.

$65 for 5000 rds. My wife bought me some Remington ammo, 500 rds., nearly 10 years ago. She was just trying to be nice. I still have a lot of it remaining and is collecting dust. It's ka-ka ammo. A lot of duds. Save your money.

I have heard this before. Something about the primers going bad. Although it really has more to do with the way they were stored.

I still have some .22lr from the early 1970's... I've shot it before and it runs fine... If kept/stored properly i dont think you'll have any issues.

I even have some .22 Win Auto from the 1920's that shoots fine.

Remington has been cutting costs significatly in the last 10 years of so. Their 870s are just not what they used to be and ammo is JUNK.... If their commercial ammo is that awful, I hate to try non commercial stuff.

last 2 boxes of remington gold bullets ran fine through my 795 and advantage arms kit. Had around 10 FTF/FTEs in each box but not bad considering the price.

They have Remington 550 boxes at WalMart (green box) says "Bonus Pack" on the box. They are Hollowpoint 22LR...

should I stay away from those? I was thinking about picking some up this friday.

Buy a box and see how they run... I have some rimfire firearms that will not run a certain brand or make, yet another will run that same ammo just fine...

EX: My first .22LR Dedicated Upper...

It will run EVERYTHING but CCI Minimags (high quality ammo) just fine...

My 10/22 wont run American Eagle, but will run Remington GB's and everything else i feed it...

                etc...

Every gun is its own animal... You just have to try out a box and see how it goes.

                  Luckily this was from 1995.

That is exactly what my wife bought for me. I probably shot 100 rounds and was not impressed. I can't even give it away to guys at my gun club.

The Remington GB's are not that consistent, but the CMP stuff was made well before the quality issues. Some guns like the new stuff, mine don't.

I still think Rem .22 ammo sucks.

                            17 Years?

It seems to me this is true of the last 5 years, but going back 17 it might be good stuff.....
