What is the best quality 22lr ammo?

Honestly whatever shoots best out of your particular firearm is the best quality. Most CCI offerings will run in anything. For comp or target Wolf mt is popular. Although some firearms run inexpensive ammo more reliably with tighter grouping than high end ammo. I would honestly grab a few different types and try them out and see what works for you. CCI Blazer, CCI mini-mags, Federal bulk pack, etc. My personal preference being Blazer. I would stay away from remington rimfire at the moment as they have suffered bad quality control in recent years. I also shy away from winchester also as they will sometimes have a very underpowered round causing inconsistant groups or a potential squib.

There are dozens of high end .22lr shells on the market. You'll just have to buy a bunch of them and see what works best in your gun. Try Elley, Wolf, CCI green label, etc. $7-$12/box of 50 is about the going price for good stuff.

Blazer all types even the cheap stuff. Thats what blazer does the best is .22.

I run mostly blazer cheap bricks which work great for plinking and target shooting.
They are very very consistant.
I've shot just about all brands and i swear i can always hear the lame loads from bad quality control. And I always hear the same boom everytime from blazer.

I run them through an old .22lr marlin, old sears .22lr, ruger mk 22/45 and S @ W 22A. all work perfect with blazer

Fiocchi and RWS also have offerings in match grade cartridges. My 10/22's like the Eley pretty consistently.

For plinking you can't beat the Winchester value packs. Normally you will get a few ftf but they are cheap. For reliability and accuracy you can' t beat CCI mini mags. They are only a little more expensive but always go boom.

Be careful with that old Marlin if it is an old S Model 39 from the 1920s; the bolt can crack eventually. Shoot only Standard Velocity (1070 or so) if applicable.

Just an old 1990 semi auto malin, model 700... It is actually a nail driver I just love it !!!!

I really like SK ammo. I used a ton of it in my CZ 452 (they are very accurate with this ammo) and CMMG AR without ever having one failure. I actually wish I had some now for my Kadet... perhaps I'll order some.
