    given the inexpensive price, i could just cut it down, i guess...

      If you were to type into the Google search box "ruger 10/22 youth stock" you might be surprised what pops up.

              blackhawk makes an adjustable stock for the 10/22 that goes from 9.5" to 13.5"
              Good for shooters of almost any size.
              9mm and 45acp are equally lousy. There's not a dime's worth of difference in REAL terminal ballistics. Get over it.
