Unless you're using your .22 for longer distance or very serious target shooting, pretty much anything will do. 50 yards and less, even the cheapest modern glass works fine until you start trying to shoot in low-light conditions. Distance clarity and higher light transmission are the advantages of more expensive glass. If neither is in play, then why get the expensive glass?
9mm and 45acp are equally lousy. There's not a dime's worth of difference in REAL terminal ballistics. Get over it.

$130 is a cheapy price but not a cheapy scope for a made in Japan.

I'm rolling a Nikon 2x7 one my modded 10/22, it's a great little scope. Very bright, clear picture. There is a Bushnell 4x9 on my the kids' 10/22. also a good choice.

Just as an FYI the zoom on a 3-9x40 is given as 3-9x or three to nine times magnification. The last number (40) is the diameter of the objective lens.

              I'm considering a Leupold 2-7x-28mm http://www.midwayusa.com/product/435...la=ProductDesc
with the Leupold AR mount http://www.midwayusa.com/product/911...la=ProductDesc
to put on an AR 22 upper.

FWIW, Natchez has an excellent BSA Sweet 22 6-18x40 for $49.99, while everyone else is selling tha same model at over $80. Word has it this scope is versatile and capable, and has really fine optics for the price.
