    Mod'ed 10/22 Bolt Hold Open, didn't help

I modified the BHO by grinding it like in the youtube videos, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyJ0Y8YcvNU

But it still behaves the same. I pull back the bolt to release it, and it never releases. My BHO looks exactly like the modded one in the video now. Am I missing something? I was careful to put things back just like it shows and the firearm appears to function. I'm perplexed.

You need to remove more material. Mine was the same way. I made it look like the picture, but it still stuck. I just kept removing material a little at a time until it worked perfectly. You may have to do it 3 or 4 times.

Check the vid linked in thread looking at purchasing 10/22 soon. Hard to describe but easy to do. Make sure it has an arc in it.

OK, thanks. I think I'll keep removing material. If I mess up, I can just buy one that'll work.

i even bought the pre modded one and it didnt work as advertized

the top lock is only half the problem if you want it to be sure you need to close the lower oval into a round hole (it takes brazing or welding)then it will pivot properly

I had this problem. It was hanging up on the magazine release. Look where the plate is close to the release, I had to notch out a tiny bit with a razor blade so the release did not contact the mag release. It drove me crazy untill I figured it out!

I've done a dozen, at least, and never had to do more than round off the top notch. It always works. Only reason I could think it wouldn't work is if the other parts are dirty and sticky.

I had the same problem on my first one, for me, that edge that you're grinding into must be rounded just a bit, not flat. In other words, grind off a bit more metal and sand it down, should work after that.

                  THAT'S IT!

It was hanging up, a little razor knife work on the mag release and bingo, all is well. Thanks for that tip!
