Just bought a Sig 522 - Need scope options

Well I just purchased a Sig 522 for $395 and have 9 days left of waiting. Looking to get the sights figured out before pickup and wanted to see what you guys would recommend. I bought this gun just to have fun with since its relatively cheap, especially ammo. I already have an AR15 as my primary gun so not looking to spend a whole lot on optics for the 522. I'll say budget is around $100. Yeah I know some will say I need to spend more but as stated this is just to have fun and the wife will probably be using it more than me.

Here's what I'm looking for:
- 3x+ magnification
- Tactical (nothing too long)
- Mil-dot or red dot
- Around $100 or less

Don't buy barska. I have a Simmons on 2 10/22's. Good quality and price. This one isn't tactical or mildot, but it will have better glass.

Since its a 22 I will suggest the setup I was running on my 15-22. NC star Quick Release scope mount.

I paid about $90 for the setup. I am really happy with the scope, glass is clear, I just recently moved it over to my SU16 to make use of the .223 BDC, but if you leave the BCD knob alone it is perfect for shooting on a 22lr. After initial zeroing it held fine for the few hundred rounds I put through it before switching it off. I was impressed by the quality for the price.

If I end up picking up the sig 522 I will be running that setup on it. Mounted on my 15-22 the combination clears my rear MBUS when it is folded down, and having the quick release on the scope mount makes it easy to switch between scope and back-up sights.

I have 2 pairs of Barska binoculars, one of their green lasers on my SR-22, the 6-24x50 Exacavator scope on my Bench 10/22 (love this freakin scope), ACOG looking red dot on my SR-22.

I have nothing bad I can say about any of them. Lifetime warranty is hard to beat.

I'm also looking at lots of other non Barska options for the new AR too but not because I don't trust their stuff. I might have reservations about using their stuff on large caliber rifles but on a .22 their stuff works fine in my experience.

If you do go with the Simmons and want the scope to be as close to the rail as possible, get medium rings. There's also a thread here on modding a 556 riser to work with it if you find the cheek rest too low.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but most are not tactical and too long for what I'm looking for. As for the primary arm 3X compact, I would consider this but the price is too much for what I'm looking for at the moment. I actually have a PA red dot and magnifier on my AR and I'm pretty happy.

What you're looking for is out of your price range for any thing that I would put on a firearm. The primary arms one is the cheapest "tactical" looking site that I would trust. Sig did run a deal on their cp1 for awhile got it for 89 bucks. It works great on the 522.

I use a BSA sweet 3-9x scope on my 10/22 and love it. I purchased it on amazon for $29 I think. I'll have to check again. No issues with it after 1500 rounds. Works great and turrets are simple to use.

I too use the BSA sweet 3-9x40, but on a Sig 522 commando. Its clear, accurate and held zero after a 1000rds. I like it so much I ordered another for my 10/22. I purchased both of them from SWFA for $39.99 a pop.
