    Model 60 being discontinued?

I was shooting out of my garage last Thursday with my Model 60 and between loadings I dropped the inner mag tube on the floor breaking the plastic follower. I called Marlin for a replacement and no luck, they've been on backorder and no one has them. A few on Ebay but they were upwards of $50.00 The nice lady at Marlin suggested a Brownells rebuild kit but I wanted the real deal. My wife suggested the local gun dealer about 70 miles away in Bangor and he had a used one that I picked up on Saturday.
The point is: there are no mag tubes available new, Marlin, Brownells, Midway, etc. and even Marlin has no idea when they'll be available. I smell an updated Model 60 with tapped reciever, Pro-fire trigger and who knows what. The shop owner agreed that it's probably true.
I'm gettin' giddy with the thought.
What's your take Model 60 owners?

I wish I could be as optimistic.
With all the problems Remington has reportedly had with other areas of manufacturing, I'd walk away thinking "Dang, there's goes another great little rifle"
    I just can't see Remington putting R&D money into a NEW tube-fed .22.

For the record, I love both of my Model 60s dearly.

Assuming you are talking about the Marlin 60 you can get everything you need from Numrich. That is a part that never goes bad unless its damaged, so they arent available everywhere. Not sure why you connected that fact with them being discontinued?

When a factory dicontinues a part it generally means a change, addition or update to a model. Such as the new XT line for the 800 and 900 series. When the 900 series became unavailable guess what? It was just a clue but it was replaced. Is it a reach to hope for a better engineered firearm?
Evidently you must not believe the best selling rimfire rifle could stand some upgrades or even be replaced. Also, I have a Numrich account, thanks. Numrich also states the part being out of stock.
I plan on making a couple of followers out of wooden dowels, shouldn't have the problem again.

Tubular magazines are always in short supply. Shoot me a PM this weekend and remind me to see if I can find the one I think I have from stripping down a Glenfield with a cracked (in half) receiver a few years ago.
