Any Marlin .22 Owners out there?

Anyone know if these are any good? I have a 980s, and the trigger on it is broken.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    SFgiant105,

I couldn't say but as long as it's a replacement then consider yourself lucky. By looking at the pic it appears to be a well made part. Good luck.

Seems pricey unless you're looking to upgrade. Have you considered Ebay as a source? A lot of rimfire parts showing up there. Maybe even Amazon. Success.

After fooling around with my 925M (22wmr) trigger, replacing springs and trying to lighten the pull I ordered and installed the RifleBasix trigger. Totally changed the rifle for me. Pull is 1.5lbs with no creep. The trigger is pricey but well worth it for me. Changed 2" @100yd 5 shot group into an occasional sub 1" group. It would be more consistent if I were.

I was happy with mine with just a spring replacement. it went from the factory spring at 7lbs to 2.5lbs, and very little creep. whats broken on yours? I may have a spare laying around. DR

Well a sping went missing on mine. I saw an article on tweaking the trigger, it looked easy, so I did it (don't judge me). Now my 22 sear won't hold back the bolt hammer (haven't loaded it since, but I think that it might slam fire if I did). I want to replace the trigger now, and I've heard the rifle basix are good

Where can you get the springs? I've looked online, but can't find them.

My spring came from under the flint on a Bic lighter, mine is an older gun. the newer guns use a spring from a ballpoint pen. they all need to be cut to length, and I had to play with the length to get the trigger weight I wanted. the first 2 numbers of your guns serial# will tell its age. if you post up its age Ill look for a stock spring for you. sfgiants105,

If your not sure try the rimfirecentral.com website. Those guys/gals are devoted solely to 22 rimfire shooting and all discusions relating to it. On a personal basis if my rifle broke I'd want it repaired as fast as possible. As long as a part is available for it the extra expense you'd possible pay comapred to other options would just take longer.

Your 980 seems to have the same trigger system as my 925m. what spring are you missing, the sear reset or the trigger reset? the trigger reset is the longer if I rember right. We have all had a spring fly out at one time or another. Ill sometimes put the gun in a clear trash bag to catch flying parts till Im shure its together. DR
