    Ruger 10/22 Receiver Help

I was taking off my scope on my 10/22 to install some Tech-Sights and I noticed one screw kept falling out. Turns out I had one of the screws on my scope base too tight and I stripped the receiver hole. Can I just put some Loctite on the Tech-Sights screw?

    Helicoil is your best bet.

Loctite might work, buy may flex in the long run if you use the blue. I think the red is stronger. Tiny amount of teflon tape

I don't know if they make a heli coil this small. but if they do that is the long time fix.

Just drill and tap for a larger screw. And no, you can't use Locktite as a repair for stripped threads.

i went up one size on the screws,, far better way to go, i just used the new screws as self taps, turn them a quarter turn then back, turn another quarter turn then back, with pleny of oil.

agreed,, but it worked. I loctited it with blue loctite and it has been a few yrs. now since i did it. holding up fine.
