Ruger Mkiii 22/45... not tacticool but reliable and eats everything....

It's not hard to dissemble, if you can follow direction (or watch youtube videos). If you cant get it right, then get this...

My P22 rocks, shoots everything I feed it, somebody brought some hallow points last time out, and it shot those as well. Mine is a 2011 model though.

Went and tried a Sig, to be kind, it sucked a brick. More FTF's than it was worth. It was a rental but still. Wanted a Buckmark but wound up with a Mk III Target SS just felt slightly better in my hand. PIA to disassemble/reassemble the first few times. It went BANG with everything I tried to run through it. I even mixed up a mag and did a very rapid fire. Again it went bang, 10 times. Guess I'll have to get a Buckmark just for comparison.

That's dope. Ya I really like the ruger I wanted the hunter with the fluted barrel **** was sooooo nice. Whaa the deal with after market barrels. I want to buy the tactical solutions barrel but don't know if there California legal. What's the law with after market parts for browning buck mark URX

Getting a TacSol Trail Lite barrel shouldn't be a problem since it's not the serialized part of the gun unlike the Rugers. If I wound up with a Browning, I was gonna go that route. But since I went with the Ruger I gotta eventually try to single shot DROS a Pac Lite. Also, go to Rimfire Central and search "Hegis flip". It's essentially a free mod that improves the feel of the trigger by flipping one of the springs.

i'm having way too much with my gsg 1911-22 pistol. Got 5000 rounds through it with no major issues.

Stock guide rods are junk, but 16 bucks for a stainless one and you are set. Reliable, fun, and doesn't look like something out of TRON....

That gsg 22 is nice no doubt but our "tron" guns destroy the gsg in accuracy. Regardless I love the 1911 wanna be and think it would be a bad *** training tool as well as a Plinker. Just saying.

I know people who own the sig and ALL say it can only shoot CCI MINI MAGS. if you shoot bulk it will be a rerack every 3rd one. i love my MKIII slab barrel shoots it all bulk or not

A Ruger MK series or a 22/45 is always nice and there are tons of aftermarket parts. There are reliable they last and last and are easy to work on.

I had a Walter .22. Went back to S&W four times. Once because the threaded barrel needed to be replace as per CA law. The other three were because it sucked. The last trip back, I sent it in with both clips just in case they might be the problem and they return the gun and only one clip. I have heard that the new ones are better, same for the Sigs. I have seen some good revues on the Ruger SR22, I think I might try one of those.

That Browning 1911 22lr looks pretty nice. Amer Rifleman did a write up not too long ago on it. Looks like in made the DOJ list a couple of months ago.

You can't beat the Ruger 22/45 for the price. Really though, for not much more money you can get a used Smith model 41. It's well known to be the finest .22 target pistol ever made. A Ruger is going to cost you $400 and the used Smith $750. Your grandkids will still have the used Smith while the Ruger will be in pieces. Spend a little more to get a top quality gun and you'll be much happier.
