Whats the best ammo for the mosquito?

Looking to buy an MKII or MKIII but I have trouble with every semi auto pistol and ammo (reliability). I want something I can feed any ammo thru with limited malfunction. How is the MKII or MKIII with "cheap" brick ammo?

Cheapest bulk ammo that works with my mosquito is CCI blazer (I paid 14.99/box at the gun show).

I have a Mark III that shoots everything that I throw at it. I have a fair amount of experience with the mosquito as well because one of my range buddies has one. The mosquito does not run nearly as smoothly as the Mark III. In fact most of his mosquito's failures end up being shot out of the Mark III with no problems.

Mosquito needs a good break-in with CCI Mini-Mags for it to run smoothly. After that it might work with bulk ammo but depends on the gun. I have no problems with CCI Blazer bulk but I know others have issues with anything but mini-mags even after break-in

I have a mosquito it loves blazer ammo you can find at big5 for $20
and ruger will be fine with it.

I have a Mk II that's eaten every one of the 10k+ rounds it's been fed.
The only time it had issues was if it was terribly dirty, and that's been rare.

I have both Sig Mosquito and Ruger Mk II and I.

I used to put cheap bulk ammo (Winchester and Remington Golden Bullets), but the Sig would jam every couple of rounds. So I only put CCI Minimags in the Sig. Be certain to read the threads on long term reliability for the Sig Mosquito. I put the Sig in the back of the safe.

The Rugers will take any kind of ammo including the filthy Remington Golden Bullets. Winchester bulk runs fine, but the Remington Golden Bullets had a one to two percent failure rate. I shot around 5,000 rounds through the Ruger in one year with bulk ammo.

Well, the main difference between the Mosquito and the Ruger is simple---the Ruger is a good gun and the Mosquito is NOT! My brother has a Mosquito and it still sits in the back of his safe because it is useless. Break-in? We could never shoot it enough to break it in...

I have a mkIII. It will shoot any ammo that I have put in to it.

While I agree the Mosquito is very picky, I have recently found that if you hold it very tight and eliminate any muzzle flip it will perform a lot better with federal bulk packs.

For just casual shooting, the match federals work good as do the CCI Blazers. I have noticed the Federal match rounds are very dirty.

I broke mine in with CCI and now I only use the Aquila 60 grain.

Either find the ammo it likes or sell it to someone that knows how. If it's useless to him, it might not be to someone else.

My Ruger eats everything I have ever tried to feed it.

My Mosquito has been fussy with every ammo I have ever tried to feed it. I have found however that it works pretty good with Federal Bulk Ammo and the light spring.

My Mosquito seems to really like the CCI Blazer. Of course it likes the mini mags as well. Also ran PMC Zappers through it without a hiccup, and, after trying the federal value pack and having issues during a previous range trip, I tried the federal again after approximately 200 blazer and 80 Zappers today. Ran 60 rounds without problems! I may try the federal again, but will definitely be using the Blazers again!
