Can someone recommend me a sight?

[VL221]

I will be picking up my first AR. I need suggestions on sights. What is the best sight for people that is on a budget?

I was searching around and found this: Walter PS22 red dot sight for $61. Any thoughts?

Or a UTG Flip up sight that is $26.

Would love to have a Eotech but can't afford it, unfortunately.

I think you're better off with iron sights than cheap red dots. What I think is a nice little starter scope/sight is a Weaver 1-3x20 scope. In 1x mode you use it like a sight and can still dial it up to 3x to use as a low powered scope. It's also rugged enough to hold up to centerfire rifle use. You'll need a scope mount though.

I would agree with that opinion.
Use it with the iron sights until you can afford decent optics.
A cheap red dot will leave you frustrated, that is what I found on my G-22 Walther, so will a cheap laser like the Walther Laser, it fell apart first trip out.
For about $220.00 you can get a Millet dedicated marksman 1X4 Power lighted reticle with red dot that can be used with or without lit dot.
I have one on my SKS and I love it.

You want an inexpensive, but good red dot? Get a Primary Arms. I personally like to learn to shoot off of the irons on my guns first before adding optics.

Barska makes a pretty decent red dot for the money. Or just go BUS like magpul.
