I recently got a couple BDM X-Form mags with the stainless steel feeding lips from 44mag for my Sig 522... Ya, the feeding lips are too small to fit a .22lr. I am attempting to contact BDM except they are closed Saturday and Sunday. I read awesome reviews before I purchased them but I guess I didn't look into them enough. I read a thread on AR-15.com from over a month ago which means BDM knew about this for over a month. I would say BDM didn't do anything since the problem probably isn't very common... except ALL THREE of my magazines are out of spec. IDK... I'm just pissed about all of this. Just a heads up for all those looking at the BDM X-Form mags

BDM X-Form mags out of spec

You could probably take a dremel to them and make em work if you wanted to. I just have no idea how many have smaller feeding lips than necessary. And obviously, not all of them are out of spec, but I find it hard to imagine there are only a couple.Comment

Did you post this over on AR15.com? I know they are not very responsive over there in their own forum even..They sure have time to get on over there when they want to introduce a new product or sell something but they try to ignore responding to posts at all...Too bad they used to be a good company,I really do not understand whats going on with them......We have two of their 50 round drums and they have worked flawlessly and hopefully they stay that way as it appears their customer service is slipping over there......Comment

This is the only gun forum I visit. I think I read about the other incident over on AR15.com though.
These are the only products of theirs that I've had issues with... and their customer service actually responded to my email today even though they are closed Sat and Sun. I'll update this when their customer service has done what they are willing to doComment

They just sent out three new rebuild kits that they did test as well as a return shipping label to return the others. Pretty good customer service.
This is from an email from them
During our first run of the steel lips, about 2 weeks into shipping, we found that some steel lips were being pressed too hard while being manufactured. That was causing some feed lips to come together too close which caused the ammo to stick. The problem is now fixed, we test every steel lip that goes out the door.
44 mag was the first company we shipped to when this problem occured so they received some of the bad feed lips. We are happy to fix this issue and pay for shipping.Comment

I did some testing for the X mags with BDM.
Give them a call. They will replace the mags. There was a known issue and it.
Mine have run 100% so it's not universal by any means.
