Marlin 795 stiff magazine removal fix?

I bought 2 Marlin 795s for my sons for Christmas. I took them shooting for their first time today and they had a great time. The only problem is removing the magazine is a PITA, even for me.

They were tough to remove even when I cleaned them after I bought them. I figured it would get better after shooting them, but no luck. We did approximately 20 magazine changes per rifle. but the was no change how tight the magazines are to remove. I not looking for the magazines to just fall out when the release button is hit. Just easy to remove.

Does anybody a fix for this issue? Thanks for the advice.

It's very common, in fact I haven't heard of anyone who hasn't had that issue. I sat in front of the TV one night and did mag changes for like 40 minutes and it helped a little. My additional mag is even worse. Only fix I've heard people wanting to try is filing the magwell. Most people say they'll order another one first but I haven't seen anything posts about it since.

I did the same thing as rckjeep, I just sat down and inserted/removed each of my 5 mags for an hour. They have gotten much looser as time goes on.

it is a matter of using it, or pull out your dremel and grind and polish.

I used one at an Appleseed once and the mags dropped right out the person that loaned it to me said it had seen 2 or 3 years of use and the this was a result of time and use.
Im still working on the dremel idea

my bro inlaw has this problem. but when I use it its easy for me. what you have to do is pull the mag release all the way back to you and the mag will come out easy!
