10/22 aftermarket barrels

I'm picking up my first 10/22 on Friday and I'm already looking for a thicker heavy aftermarket 10/22 barrel tha will fit in a hogue overmold stock . So far I've only seen people make reference to bull and volquartsen barrels, I was wondering if there was any other quality barrels out there.

And before anyone says all I need is just ammo and mags because a 10/22 is good to go out of the box, I specifically bought a 10/22 to be my first venture into tinkering with a gun from the top down.

there's lots more out there. as cheep as you want to as much as you want to spend. for the most part I use the GM's if I don't use the factory barrel.

I picked up an 18" ER Shaw .920 bull barrel for $80 shipped around Thanksgiving time. Bought it off gunkings.com, a sponsor on rimfirecentral.com

It's your basic bull barrel but well more than enough for my needs. Didn't want to spend too much on something I wasn't planning to shoot very often.

ETA: Make sure you have the Hogue overmold stock that's meant for the thicker bull barrels. They also have a version for the stock sized barrels and that will not work for .920 barrels.

I recently started tinkering with some old 10/22 barreled actions I had around the house. It has been a lot of fun. Enjoy!

If you don't want to wait on that Shaw, IMO you can not get a better barrel than a Green Mountain for the cost.

i have a kidd barrel and it rocks
